You will be assured of a warm welcome from Heather.
Kyle of Lochalsh is ideally situated for visitors wishing to explore the West Coast of Scotland. The world famous Eilean Donan castle is 8 miles away and the picturesque village of Plockton where the Tv series "Hamish Macbeth" was filmed is 6 miles.
The village of Applecross is an hours' drive away. It is reached by driving over a high mountain pass (not for the fainthearted!). The scenery is spectacular and the village boasts a beautiful beach. This is also the location where the Monty Halls series was filmed. The West Coast ruggedness appeals to most people, especially cyclists, walkers, climbers and bikers.
Kyle of Lochalsh is also the gateway to the Isle of Skye and the Outer Isles. Although we now have a toll free bridge any romantics among you wishing to travel "over the sea to Skye" may do so on the Glenelg ferry. This is another interesting drive with wonderful views. There are lots of different activities available, lots of interesting places to see and an abundance of wildlife. Also many sites of historical interest including castles, pictish brochs, museums etc. |
